File:Manga reading direction.svgYou are probably wondering "What are mangas?" when others ask right? Well mangas are Japanese comics and they're similar to the American comic book but the book is backwards and the art is different like with details and how its drawn.  The word "Manga" is a Japanese word that refers to both comics and cartoons. Mangas come in many different genres like comedy, sports, horror, romance, action, fantasy, mystery, etc. Mangas can also be made in China(mostly in Hong Kong) called "manhua", South Korea called "manhwa", and Taiwan called "manhua" like in China. Kids have said that it fun to read mangas because it has action and comedy and thats what makes it so good. Kids tend to read it often like everyday, twice a week, or whenever he/she has time. Recently, the manga industry has expanded worldwide. That's where distribution companies license and re-print mangas into their native languages. But most of the time they translate it into English because it more poplular in America. Between the 1950's and 1960's, the first manga made, was created by Osamu Tezuka. He is the created of  "Astor Boy" and some other mangas. He continue to make mangas with other manga artists to entertain all ages. Even till now, Mangas are very popular in Japan, America and other places.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big Success at the Dance
On Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., September 28. Taylor Middle School's back to school dance in the auditorium was hosted by the leadership class. Leadership had the dance because they want the students to have fun and enjoy their school life. 125 pre-sale tickets were sold before the dance, while almost 150 tickets were sold at the door. There was delicious pizza, water and Capri Sun sold there for 50 cents each. There was awesome music brought by DJ High Top. The TMS students came to hang out with  their friends or was asked out by someone else. Some students came to eat the pizza and others came to dance and listen to the music. There were many couples and groups slow dancing, but many people also danced by themselves. During the last 10 minutes of the dance, DJ High Top had a contest to see who were good at dancing to come up on stage and dance to Gangnam Style. Right before the dance ended, DJ High Top announced that Dr. Martin and Dr. Toy called in first to book him before any other schools did.

interview

An interview is when one person questions or consults with another person.

The difference between a journalism interview and a job interview is that you have to tell your name in a job interview but you don't don't have to mention their name in a journalism interview if the person said to not say their name. You can use the info that you got for that person you interviewed but not mention their name.

When you are getting ready to interview you have to have good question to ask. Like you can ask, "Tell me about ___________." , " How do you know about ___________." , "How do you _______." ,or, " is there anything I haven't asked yet _________."

You have to remember that you must you must be the interviewer and find the interviewee and and not to mention the interviewee's name.

When your done with the interview, you gather and record your information like quotes.

Media Release

Media release is something newsworthy that reporters can report on. We use it to help us find news to report on so other will know it.

An example can be like there is a big chess game at a curtain place and time. But the people don't know about this event. So the people who hosted the game, would send out a note to the reporting company. Then the company will send out some reporters to ask questions about the chess game. Then they go back and there, They made an advertisement for the chess game.

We can use the media release to get the news out the the TMS students.
