Cats come in many different kinds of breed (like dogs) like Siamese, ragdoll, calico, tabby, etc.
There are more than 500 million domestic cats in the world, with approximately 40 recognized breeds.
The domesticated cat is a small and furry animal that have quick reflexes, and have sharp retractable claws. They're bodies are flexible and strong, and can twist in almost any direction. They're legs are very strong and can jump 5 times it own height. Cats have excellent night vision and can see at only one-sixth the light level required for human vision. They also have excellent hearing and can hear sounds that dogs and humans can't hear.
On average, cats spend 2/3 of every day sleeping. That means a nine-year-old cat has been awake for only three years of its life. One reason why kittens sleep so much is because a growth hormone is released only when they are asleep.
Back in Egypt long time ago, and still now; cats were keep as pets. There are some cats that are indoor cats when they like to stay inside the house instead of outside and other cats that are outdoor cats when they like to stay outside in the fresh and come back for food or sometimes rest on the couch.
In the past a man named Mohammed loved cats and reportedly his favorite cat, Muezza, was a tabby. Legend says that tabby cats have an “M” for Mohammed on top of their heads because Mohammad would often rest his hand on the cat’s head.
People sometimes think a cat can go down a tree head first but a cat can’t climb head first down a tree because every claw on a cat’s paw points the same way. To get down from a tree, a cat must back down.
